Butterfly Haven Castle - Streams & W'falls BHC enjoyed seasonal streams and small waterfalls for several months per year. Even during the wetter months, these were intermittent. The water flow above ground was only obvious for several days after it had just poured. The koppie (small hill) behind us collected much water when it rained and this came gushing down to sea level through the magical land of BHC. There were two main streams, which I shall name:-
Bridgey Bridgey flowed furiously down from the koppie:- Entering the magical land of BHC
Seen from House deck
Seen from Pool area
Further down the route - in the dry season - the river course looked like this:- Dry river bed (looking upstream, small bridge in distance)
Small bridge (still looking upstream)
Both bridges (now looking downstream)
And when it poured, the river course looked like this: When it was dry: Dry river course (both bridges visible)
And when it rained heavily: Torrential Stream, Tipi & Rope Bridge
