Look & Think

Nature created the two poles – masculine and feminine – which are represented by men and women, so that they might create by making exchanges. These exchanges occur not only on the physical plane, but also on the spiritual plane through words, thoughts or glances, and they are just as vital as nutrition or breathing. If human beings knew how to make these exchanges, they would always be happy and well, but as many do not, they poison themselves. Whereas others, who stop making exchanges, die psychically or spiritually.
We must make exchanges, but exactly as we do with the sun. The sun is high up there in the sky, and the exchanges with it take place on a subtle level, through its warmth and its light. If you were to embrace the sun (supposing such a thing were possible!), you would be burned; so you must embrace it simply by looking at it and thinking of it. If in our desire to love men or women we were content merely to embrace them from afar, we would experience another subtle and poetic life.
