Yagna Fire Ritual

Yagna

One very simple yet extremely powerful technique for re-establishing a healthy and harmonious environment is called “Yagna” [or “Yajna”] - a healing fire.
For the Yagna we use a small copper pyramid or square altar, sandalwood, camphor, ghee, rice, or other whole grains, and dried cow dung.
Healing peace mantras are chanted as the fire is lit inside the altar at exactly sunrise or sunset.
With the fire burning and potentizing the medicinal properties of the ingredients offered, we meditate upon global peace and harmony and health and healing for people who are sick and suffering.
When a Yagna is held people in the immediate surrounding benefit from inhaling the smoke of fire. The powerful vibrations travel for miles and bring about inner transformation.
We experience an inner bliss. Our inner solar plexus is strengthened.
In ancient times sages performed great Yagnas for the peace and welfare of the whole world.
You don’t perform a Yagna to become great or to gain riches, but to become humble.
Wherever these fires are offered, harmony and peace prevails.

We see a square altar of bricks, a few bricks high, with ritual sand symbols and flowers on top of the bricks. A fire is lit within the altar and people are adding offerings.
