| AHA - Anandamayi Ma
This is a case study of Anandamayi Ma in the context of the map of consciousness called Animal, Human and Angel (AHA).
Anandamayi Ma was a mystic who identified very deeply with her divine or angelic consciousness. She distinguishes clearly between the Animal and the Angel. She said to Paramahansa Yogananda:
"My consciousness has never associated itself with this temporary body. Before I came on this earth, Father, 'I was the same.' As a little girl, 'I was the same.' I grew into womanhood, but still 'I was the same.' When the family in which I had been born made arrangements to have this body married, 'I was the same.'... And, Father, in front of you now, 'I am the same.' Ever afterward, though the dance of creation change[s] around me in the hall of eternity, 'I shall be the same.'"
At Om-Guru (dated 1999-2005, accessed 5 December 2017), we are told she 'sometimes described herself as completely empty with no sense of the "I am" remaining. She was lost in the great void (mahasunya) which was responsible for her actions.'
Yet she also recognises the wonder of the human and the animal when she says:
"I find one vast garden spread out all over the universe. All plants, all human beings, all higher mind bodies are about in this garden in various ways, each has his own uniqueness and beauty. Their presence and variety give me great delight. Every one of you adds with his special feature to the glory of the garden."
