Weaving The more that we can entwine ourselves with the natural cycles through drumming, chanting, and prayer, the more we weave ourselves into the natural web that is abundance... ![]() The thirteen moon cycles and the spring and fall equinoxes, combined with the winter and summer solstices, are all times for us to recognize the regular periods of the most intense and concentrated energy. Watch and drum with the phases of the moon. Celebrate your connection by remembering to rise in the early morning and greet these turning points with dawn meditations. This means that you will now be coordinating your energy input with others on the medicine path. These nodal points act as drumbeats in the annual cycle. By celebrating them, you will be tuning yourself to the drum rhythm of the holy earth and her relationship with the planets and other celestial bodies. We are tiny and insignificant relative to these great cycles, and yet, for some reason, we can have the eyes of appreciation and the ears to listen for beauty... Drumming with the turning points and welcoming in the seasons concentrates our motives and brings us into the heartbeat of our earth and the universe. (Steven Ash, from Sacred Drumming) ![]() |
